  2. Bow Mar Water and Sanitation District will be increasing the water usage rate it charges it's customers from $3.26 to $3.46 effective February 1, 2017.

Customers will see this increase in their March 2017 billing statement.

Rates for water and sewer billing for 2017 are as follows:

    ·       The current water usage rate of $3.26 per 1,000 gallons will increase to $3.46 per 1,000 gallons on February 1, 2017.

    ·       The bi-monthly base rate remains at $9.40.

    ·       The bi-monthly sewage transmission and processing rate remains at $34.17.

Even with the increase mentioned above Bow Mar remains one of the lowest priced water suppliers per 1,000 gallons in the Denver Metro area.

Bow Mar pays Denver Water $4.04 per thousand gallons and we have operated the water division at a loss since we requested a tax increase to pay for the water line replacement project several years ago.  At that time we reduced our water rate an equal amount to the tax rate increase so there would be no net increase in taxes and fees charged to you - our neighbors and customers.  We cannot continue to operate at a deficit indefinitely, thus the increases above and the increases both past and future.

Please be advised that we have been notified by the Denver Water Board to expect increases in future water rates in the amount of approximately 3% a year for 2018 and forward. Also, our cost of sewer transmission/processing is expected to raise a similar amount for 2018 and forward.
